Since the Issues Paper was released in April 2007, the Advance Directives Review Committee has consulted widely and sought expert advice. The Review Committee’s finalised reports and recommendations were provided to the Attorney-General and the Ministers for Health and for Families and Communities by the Chair of the Advance Directives Review Committee in September 2008.

The Stage 1 Report recommends changes to law and policy while the Stage 2 Report recommends strategies for implementation and practice to support changes recommended in the first Report. The reports and their recommendations are currently being considered by the Attorney-General in consultation with the Minister for Health and the Minister for Families and Communities. The release of these Reports will be at the discretion of the Attorney General.
