About this calculator
What
is it?
The
calculator is a computer-based system that uses the National Immunisation Program Schedule. It
recommends doses of vaccine be given at specific ages. If doses of vaccine are
delayed or missed, the calculator will assist in providing a 'catch-up' schedule
for future vaccine doses.
Who
is it for?
The
calculator is for Australian children up to their 7th birthday and on the funded component of
the National Immunisation Program Schedule.
Parents,
carers and immunisation providers can use the calculator to assist in catch-up
scheduling for vaccinations.
What
does fully immunised mean?
A
child who has received all the recommended vaccine doses and has had them on
time is fully immunised.
Why
is the birth date important?
As
new vaccines have become available, the National Immunisation Program Schedule
changes. It has had 6 major updates between 1994 and 2007. The date of birth is
important to determine which schedule is the correct one for your child. The calculator will
automatically choose the right schedule for your child after you enter date of
birth.
What
if my child was born overseas?
Parents
and carers of children born overseas should consult an
immunisation provider who will advise on future vaccinations according to the
National Immunisation Program Schedule.
