Pap Smear Awareness Week 2008 was held from Sunday 4 May to Saturday 10 May.

Pap Smear Awareness Week (PSAW) 2008 aims were:

  • To raise community awareness about cervical cancer and its prevention,

  • To encourage women 18 – 70 years to participate in the screening program by making an appointment with their health service provider for a recommended two yearly Pap smear and

  • Particularly to encourage and support women in low screening groups to understand the importance of regular Pap smears in the prevention of cervical cancer.
