National stakeholder & community consultation

The Australia New Zealand Food Regulation Ministerial Council is responsible for the development of domestic regulatory policy and the development of policy guidelines for Food Standards. The Commonwealth, States and Territories and the New Zealand government are represented on the Council by their Health Ministers and Ministers from other portfolios including agriculture and consumer affairs.

The Food Regulation Standing Committee (FRSC) coordinates policy advice for consideration by the Ministerial Council.  Draft policy papers developed by FRSC requiring stakeholder and community consultation are available at the Food Regulation Secretariat web site.
