EPODE Presentation
On Tuesday 1 April 2008 the Health Promotion Branch held a presentation and discussion session with Dr Jean-Michel Borys. Jean-Michel was in Adelaide to present at the Australian Health Promotion Schools Associations 7th National Conference on EPODE which he co-founded and has been director of since 2003. The EPODE program in France involves a multi strategy community based approach to preventing childhood obesity. This program appears to be achieving good results and is being adopted in other countries around the world. During the session staff from SA Health, local government and NGOs were able to hear about the EPODE program in more detail and have the opportunity to ask questions to Dr Borys.
