What are the
eat well be active (ewba) Community Programs?

Final ewba Report, Dec 2010, just released!

The eat well be active Community Programs aimed to contribute to healthy weight in children, young people (0-18 years) and their families through promoting healthy eating and physical activity. The Programs worked in partnership with a variety of sectors such as health, education, welfare, neighbourhoods and food supply by addressing both environmental and individual barriers to healthy eating and physical activity.
The initiatives were based in two communities:

  • Morphett Vale (southern metropolitan SA, population 23,000)

  • Murray Bridge (rural SA, population 18,000)

Funded for $2.6 million over five years by the Government of South Australia, Department of Health, the Programs were implemented by Southern Primary Health of Southern Adelaide Health Service and Murray Mallee Community Health Service of Country Health SA.

As this project is now finished there are no funded staff members, however inquiries can be emailed.
