Mark Winne

Mark is a free-lance writer, speaker and food system consultant who currently lives in New Mexico. Mark was in Australia to attend the National Farmers Market conference in Albury and then in Adelaide as co-presenter at the Flinders University 2005 Food Policy short course: Good Food (Un)just for some. Mark provided a North American perspective on government food and agriculture policy and its link with private for profit and not-for profit sectors and the place of community food systems.

Heather Yeatman

Assoc. Prof. Heather Yeatman is Head, Graduate School of Public Health, University of Woollongong, New South Wales. Heather’s research interests cover food and nutrition policy, food regulation, health promotion and community and professional roles in policy making, public health and local government. Heather recently completed two terms on the board of Food Standards Australia New Zealand; her current affiliations include membership of the Advisory Committee, SafeFood NSW and the Complementary Medicines Evaluation Committee.
Heather spoke on Public health nutrition perspectives on the food system. She identified benefits and opportunities of more closely linking agriculture, food and heath policy. Heather’s presentation is provided (PDF 233k).

Grahame Tonkin

Grahame is the Executive Director of Food South Australia, in the Department of Primary Industries and Resources South Australia. Grahame spoke about the state food plan and its links with South Australia’s strategic plan. Grahame's presentation is provided (PDF 157k).
