About the Start Right - Eat Right Award

About Start Right - Eat Right

SRER Award recognises child care centres that have:

  • A nutritionally adequate menu that provides at least 50% of children’s daily nutrition requirements.

  • All staff trained in food hygiene and food hygiene practices in place.

  • A supportive eating environment for children.

The SRER project promotes healthy eating and good nutrition for young children in South Australian child care centres. This statewide project assists in achieving the goals of South Australia’s nutrition and healthy weight strategies as part of Eat Well South Australia and Eat Well Be Active.

It is funded by SA Health and managed by Southern Adelaide Local Health Network.

‘Start Kids Eating Right’ cookbook now at your fingertips

Start Right-Eat Right’s own ‘Start Kids Eating Right’ cookbook contains lots of Good to know nutrition tips and must try recipes!!

The book is now available free to download.

The Start Right-Eat Right team wishes to thank everyone who has contributed towards making our first ever cookbook a reality.

We hope that staff and parents find it useful in bringing healthy eating messages to the home and welcome any feedback with open arms.
